Editorial policy
Emerald Food Journal aims to make food topics clear, useful and fair. We distinguish explanation from opinion, describe the limits of a claim and revise material when a meaningful error comes to light.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against suitable information before publication and take care with dates, terms, origins and explanations of technique. We avoid overstating what a source or example can show. When a subject is disputed or varies across traditions, we make that variation visible instead of presenting one account as universal.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a promise of favourable coverage to a product, partner or contributor. Any material relationship that could affect how a piece is understood will be disclosed clearly alongside that material.
Corrections and updates
If you spot a factual error or an unclear passage, contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests, update material where warranted and make significant changes clear to readers. We do not silently change a material point in a way that could mislead.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported content will be clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner placements will also be identified where they appear. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where relevant, they are treated as illustrations rather than documentary evidence.
